Dad the Digger

Ryan has been working on building up and leveling the ground for our garage. The sun has been shining on us this week so its perfect weather to get outside and push the dirt around. Emily has been out there almost every day to help her Daddy. She and Alaina got to ride in the dump truck when Ryan moved it across the property. It was a little too loud for their liking.

Today the whole family was outside to watch Daddy on his digger. Lila, the project supervisor, was throwing rocks and ordering us around.

Stylin' Rylan

The motherboard went out on my computer last week so I haven't been able to make any new postings. But I am back. We are all well and had a good Sunday. Things at church are going really well and its exciting to see God at work. Please note the link (here on our blog) for our church blog. We will be updating that with pics and little bits about whats happening at Heritage Bible. Just had to include this pic of little Rylan. Ain't he stylin?

Happy Birthday Ryan!

Today was Ryan's 30th birthday. School was canceled today because of the icy conditions so that gave the girls and I plenty of time to make birthday hats and cake for Daddy. I just have to say that Ryan is a wonderful husband and father and I am so thankful that God brought us together! I look forward to celebrating many more birthdays with him!

Our Forward Stride

We had a quiet day, relaxing and enjoying our time as a family. Today is Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Did you know MLK's given name was Michael and he changed it to Martin? Did you further know that this fine man graduated from high school and started college at 15? Just a little trivia for you all. I'll leave you with a quote from Martin Luther King's acceptance speech, when awarded the Nobel Peace Prize, December 10, 1964.
"I believe that what self-centered men have torn down men other-centered can build up. I still believe that one day mankind will bow before the altars of God and be crowned triumphant over war and bloodshed, and nonviolent redemptive good will proclaim the rule of the land. "And the lion and the lamb shall lie down together and every man shall sit under his own vine and fig tree and none shall be afraid." I still believe that We Shall overcome! This faith can give us courage to face the uncertainties of the future. It will give our tired feet new strength as we continue our forward stride toward the city of freedom. "

Smilin' Rylan

I had to get a picture of my cute baby boy on here. Rylan is 4 months and 8 days old and he is so much fun. Isn't he adorable?

Winter Wonderland

It was another day of snow play. Had to upload these great shots of the girls enjoying the winter weather. We were not successful at building a snowman today - the snow was too dry. Alaina was rather depressed about that. She did manage to make some snowballs to throw at Emily though!

Murphy and Cooper

We have dogs! We adopted two golden labs from the Humane Society at the beginning of the month. They are both really sweet dogs. Murphy is the chubby older one (face shot) and Cooper is the skinny younger one (laying in the hay with toy). The girls are loving them because they are so calm and don't jump on them. Emily has claimed Murphy as her own and Alaina has claimed Cooper. Lila likes them both. I'll have to hide the dog food because she keeps grabbing handfuls of it to feed her new friends.

Let it Snow!

It's been snowing off and on all morning. Lila and I went out and built a snowman while Em and Al were at school. He was covered with gravel from the driveway, but he was still pretty cute. Its supposed to snow more tonight so hopefully we'll have some nice fresh flakes to play in tomorrow morning.

This is something we've wanted to do for awhile! Hopefully this blog will be a good way for family and friends to keep up with events in our lives. The challenge will be for us to keep things updated! We need to start things off with a new family picture. Rylan is missing from the one we have posted right now.
