Little House on the Prairie

My friend Tina is starting a new business at her ranch by offering themed birthday parties.

One of the themes she offers is "Little House on the Prairie" and she kicked it off by throwing her daughter, Jansi, a Little House birthday party.

My kids were excited about this because we have recently finished watching some of the 9 seasons of Little House (thank you, Netflix) and they love to pretend play that they are in Walnut Grove and living life as Laura, Mary, and Carrie.

Tina had these cute dresses and bonnets made and watching the kids run around the ranch almost made me think I was there living with the Ingalls.

The girls camped out that night in a tepee and came to church the next morning in their prairie dresses and bonnets.

It was a real fun time!

Cool New Summer Do

I've been trying to get Emily to cut her hair for awhile and she finally let me take the scissors to it last night. We put it in a pony tail and then whacked it off. Here is a before shot . . .

Emily's Recital Pictures

Emily's dance recital had a theme of "Night at the Movies" this year.

All the music was from different movies. Emily's class danced to a piece from Edward Scissorhands. She did a wonderful job.

She made me cry it was so good! I'm so proud of this girl!

I have some of my best conversations with Bo when he is on his changing table. I was trying to catch it on film, but as soon as I got the camera out, he clammed up. Figures. Still pretty cute though.

Zebras, birthdays and more

Lila turned 6 back in March, but it wasn't until this month that I finally got her "friend party" put together. She was very patient with me. It seemed like there was something going on every weekend or someone was sick or I just wasn't ready.

Lila's favorite animal is a zebra so she requested a zebra party.

Emily turned 10 (whoa - she's in the double digits now!) the next weekend. We had fun celebrating with her too. Don't worry she won't have a friend party this year so I won't have to try and put that together 2 months from now. :)

They were invited to a friend's "Fancy Nancy" party. They got dressed up all fancy like Nancy. (If you are not familiar with Fancy Nancy she is a picture book character who dresses and acts very flamboyantly.)

Now that we made it through our spring birthdays we are looking forward to the end of school - only 3 more weeks left!
