Tunnel Vision

Lovin these pictures of the kids going down the tunnel slide at Logan Park. We stopped at the park when we were in the Seattle area on Friday. Emily and Alaina used to play there as toddlers. They have added some new things since we moved away. One of the new things was swings!

Boys and their toys

Rylan is all boy! If he had his wish he would be outside for most of the day. Trucks, excavators, and lawn tractors are all very exciting pieces of equipment! Daddy and Rylan are like two peas in a pod. They love toys!

Applesauce and cookies

Fall is here - time to make applesauce! Two different ladies from church supplied us with bags of baking apples so this morning Lila and I got busy, peeled them and made applesauce. One of these days I'm sure technology will allow us to attach "scents" with our emails and blog postings. If it were possible, I would share with you all the yummy smell of baking apples. After we had the apples simmering on the stove we made a batch of cookies. Lila picked chocolate chip. Her favorite part is licking the mixer beater!

Saturday Morning Soccer

Our Saturday mornings revolve around soccer for the next couple of weeks. Alaina is our lone player. Emily decided she would be coach's assistant this year since as a 2nd grader she would have to move up and play with the big kids. The big kids team can be a little intimidating because the ages range from 2nd grade up to 6th grade. Here are two of Alaina's biggest fans! An action shot that Emily took from the sidelines. Pre-game excitement - Go get em, black team!

Jellyfish at Cannon Beach

Ryan and I enjoyed our time this week at the annual Pastors and Wives Retreat at Cannon Beach. We are so thankful for Mom who took care of the kids so we could have time together. While walking along the beach, we passed several jellyfish that had been washed up on the shore. This is one that was laid out perfectly so you can see what they really looks like. Ain't that cool? We had beautiful weather the 2 days we were there. Here is the sun shining down on Haystack Rock. God created such a beautiful world didn't He?

First Day of School

Yesterday was the first day of school. Emily started 2nd grade and Alaina started kindergarten this year. Don't they look so grown up? A beautiful morning greeted us when we went out to wait for the bus. Waiting at the bus stop.
